These little metal towel racks just don't work for my family. After 5 bathing kids, that bathroom is a total disaster.
To solve the problem I used a cabinet door from an old entertainment center. I used its buddy for THIS.
I was so happy to be reunited with our drill press after all this time in storage! I stuck a 1/2'' bit on the end and went to town making holes in this sucker. I put a little bit of wood glue on the end of the pegs and hammered them into place!
I decided to paint the pegboard white, so the wall color needed to change. Since that bathroom is almost always open, I used the same color as I used for my kitchen bar. It's called Spanish Olive by Glidden. I used a Satin finish. I know for bathrooms it's better to use a Semi-gloss, but I didn't want to....so there.
Here it is all finished and ready to hold 5 towels!
Cha-Check that one off the to-do list!!

That color is gorgeous! We have a metal towel holder too that I hate. I'm gonna have to copy it!
ReplyDeleteNot only is that about 28723546687213444 times more functional than that metal towel bar it's AT LEAST that many times cuter!
ReplyDeleteClever & cute. Makes me think about where else this could work well too.
