Red Love

I am so excited about the amazing links we had from this weeks Creative Cats!!! Really great ideas! If you haven't had a chance to hop around and look make sure you do! You won't regret it! Have I ever mentioned how much I love the color red. It's just so pleasing to my eyes. I especially love it combined with bright white. It's been a little while since I have painted something red, so today I gave into the temptation. I cut out and routed a piece of mdf and also chopped down a nesting box with the chop saw.

I drilled myself some holes into the boards for shaker pegs and then went to town with the red paint.

While everything was drying I cut myself some vinyl lettering and a star bird. I rubbed it onto the box for a nice little spot for mail.

I used E-600 to glue the box to the board and wood glue to secure the pegs to the board and tapped them into the pre-drilled holes with a hammer. Yay for red!!

It makes me so happy!! Is it cheesy to hang a coat on the hook and stick mail in it while it's lying on the floor? I just wanted to see what it would look like:)
