Hey there!!
Welcome to T-to the-U-to the-E-to the-S-D-A-Y!!!
It's my favorite computer day because I get to take a peek at your amazing projects!!
Yahoo!!
To start the ball rolling I'll share my project o' the day. I think the rain is getting me into the groove of Fall. I love the cooler weather..not too cold, but I do like jackets. I decided to go with a Fall-ish kind of project today and make some pumpkins.
To start off I grabbed a few nesting boxes that Kathy was kind enough to pass my way.
I also cut a few little blocks out of mdf and had The Joe cut me pieces of beadboard to fit nicely inside.
I didn't have any orange paint so I decided to try my hand at mixing some up... after all red and yellow make orange right??
Not on my first attempt. It ended up looking more like Pepto barf.
The Joe made the suggestion that I use a bright yellow instead of Buttercup...
ahh yeah!!! That's what I'm talking about!! In your face orange!! I love it!! After painting the boxes and the beadboard orange, I took dark brown paint and painted over the beads and then wiped it off leaving the darkness in the grooves.
It also wiped off some of the paint, but I think that makes it look more pumpkin-ish anyway. I used E-6000 to glue the lot together and added a block letter and some black vinyl. Who says pumpkins need to be round? I kind of like the squareness.
Speaking of vinyl you'll have to check out a post my bro-in-law wrote about vinyl signs. It made me laugh. Check it out HERE, but make sure and pop back over so you can
link up your creative projects!!
I could use a shot of Tuesday inspiration!!
