Dear Mistint,
I'm sorry that you have been labeled a mistake and stuck in a corner.
You shouldn't have to go thru life like that.
I will take you home.
I will love you and use you like a real intentional color.
You are beautiful.
Don't let anyone tell you differently.
Dressed with a little gel stain and varnish you will be
the talk of the town.
Don't let a silly sticker determine your future.
You are a color!!
You are an amazing color!!!
You have so much potential!!
Don't ever forget that.
All my love,
Andy

Love that mistint!!!! besides the fact that it was marked down, it is beautiful!
ReplyDeletethat is adorably cute!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! The bench/table and the paint were meant to be together...oh so pretty.
ReplyDeleteso so cute! I want that bench!
ReplyDeleteCute post! So, how does gel stain work? How is it different from regular stain?
ReplyDeleteGel stain is thicker and in my opinion much easier to work with. It comes out looking like a paint that I just put on a cloth and rub it on my project. If I get too much on I just get a wet cloth and wipe it off. If I want just the edges dark I'll use a paint brush and just lightly paint the edges with gel stain. I really really like it.
ReplyDeleteAdorable post! I constantly check the mistints in my area!
ReplyDeleteLovely color! Glad you took it home to give it some love. :)
ReplyDeleteAndy, you are amazing and such an inspiration. My parents are remodeling and have a similar colour left over. I can't wait to put it to good use. I have two chairs and a coffee table remodel in the works. What do you use to cut your vinyl??? If you don't mind me asking.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! ( Love the lonely mis-tints)
ReplyDeleteI love mis-tints too! That color is awesome, great job! What a fun bench!
ReplyDeleteToo Cute! Love the color and how it turned out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

This post was awesome. It was fun to read. I think that the clever letter to the topic method would make anything nice to read. Great job,

Andy, you are so cute! This post is amazing, and the bench is beautiful!! I love the font on your pumpkins. To the mistints in each of us.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I love mistints too! We adoptive parents need to coo loving words to our little paint refugees. And, I have one of those little benches too, and after seeing this post, I know just what to do!
ReplyDeletepeace~

ReplyDeleteThat just looks awesome with your front door and the pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteWow it turned out beautifully. I love the color and with the white pumpkins!! So nice.
ReplyDeleteLove this post! It is so cute. I have a little collection of mistints too. Many of our rooms are or were mistints before repainting (not because I didn't like the colours but because they were pretty roughed up by little ones.)Some great furniture rehabs too. Great little bench and love the fresh new look to the entry.
ReplyDeleteah I love it!
ReplyDeleteHow did you make it green when it looked tan in the pictures... was it the gel stain, or was the first picture just misleading?
So not a mistake! I love this ~ nice job!
ReplyDeleteI buy mis-tinted paint all of the time! Saves a bunch of money! I love your bench.
ReplyDeleteAndy- I LOVE the colors that you use in your projects! They are gorgeous!! Is there anyway I can beg and plead with you to post some of those colors so that I can use some of them for my own home??? PLEASE! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very after-the-fact comment, but I just discovered your blog and couldn't believe it when I saw this project. I have that same exact gossip bench (that used to belong to my mom) in the same exact condition, and I just haven't decided what color I want to paint it. Yours looks great!
