DIY Pegboard Bookshelf

I love making things myself because I can customize them to fit the needs of my family.
I wanted to kill two birds by combining a pegboard and bookshelf.

I'm not going to give a full tutorial of the bookshelf. It's basically the same shelf I made for my other daughters room, but with a bigger board for the back.

Click HERE if you'd like to see the tutorial

I started with a rectangular mdf board.

And built a simple hanging bookshelf on the top half.

I drilled holes and put shaker pegs into the bottom of the board.

And then I put it all together with a pneumatic nail gun.

After it was painted, my little princesses helped me hang it up on the wall.
They did a great job holding all of the tools and handing them to me when I needed them.

When I asked Mira what she thought of it, she grabbed that little jacket, gave it a big hug and said,
"Mommy, I love it so MUCH!"
Too darling.

  1. Ha! Ha! I am the first to comment! What a great idea. You need a little chair in that reading corner.

I just want to tell you that you make everything look so easy. I made one of the bigger book shelves and it is not the prettiest! There is a definite art in measurements and precision when it comes to creating things with wood!

    Great job Andy!
