Scrappy curtains...

What do you do when you don't have any money for window treatments?? Well, you have to get creative.  First of all, stop by Poppies at Play on Monday for a chance to win a free shade!! That will surely help.  And how about curtains?  I had a couple of flat sheets that I had purchased last year from Wal-Mart for $4 each.

Having one green and one blue, I decided to make paneled curtains. I folded the sheets into 4 equal parts.

Tear them into strips and alternate colors.

If you've taken sewing in junior high, this should be a simple project. As long as your sewing machine cooperates.

Buy some cheap-o curtain rods. What's the sense in making free curtains if you have to spend a lot on rods. I spent $1.50 for each rod at Target.

So, with a couple of flat sheets you can transform this window:

into this window:

Much more inviting and super dooper cheap!

For inexpensive accessories, buy a few circle place mats at Target for $1.50 each and tack them to the wall.

Don't forget to stop by on Monday for a chance to win a free shade from Redi Shade!

  4. The paint color is called Sand Motif by Behr. It's the paint and primer in one.
