Wedding Gift/His and Hers boards

Grab four routed mdf boards. Two big and two little. Whatever size you'd like!
Paint!
I used Natural Twine~Martha Stewart collection
Add vinyl lettering!
Use Mod Podge to attach colorful paper on the smaller boards.
One girly and one boyish...ly.
The best way to attach the smaller board to the larger is to put a little bit of wood glue on the back and then nail them into place with a pneumatic nail gun, coming in angled from the edge of the smaller board and then add whatever hooks grab your heartstrings.
Nail a picture hanger on the back, or pre-drill hanging holes.
Use them for keys, coats or towels!
That's all folks!

  3. super cute! have a question though.. when you place your paper on the block, obviously it over hangs until you cut it the correct size. but,how do you cut it once it's on the block. i know you sand the edges a little to "antique" it, but i attempted this same sort of project yesterday and didn't get my edges as nice as i would have liked to. if you don't mind.. will you share you secret? thanks and thanks for an awesome blog.. it's a daily read for me!

  4. Thanks Shara! to answer your question, you actually use the sandpaper to cut the paper not just to antique. After the Mod Podge has completely dried, bend down all the edges of the paper so you can see the edge of the board really well and just sand right along the edge of the board. It works like a charm!

  8. Love 'em. I don't have a pneumatic nail gun, so maybe I'll have to come visit you now that all of your tools are out of storage! :) P.S. "Big Jumps" is the weirdest music video I've ever seen. :)
