Time for big changes!

I'm so excited to announce that I will be adding two lovely new authors to Poppies at Play! Hannah and Heather will be joining us starting next week!! I will give them a chance to introduce themselves when they post, but I do want to say that I am always impressed by these ladies and their avenues of creativity. I am also impressed with what wonderful women they are. I'm thrilled that they will be joining me and I know they will add so much to Poppies at Play!! Please give them a warm welcome next week!! I'm excited to add different perspectives and ideas to the blog as well as give myself more time to spend with the kidlets. Thanks ladies and I can't wait to be inspired by your posts!!

For my wrap up project of the week I would like to share a coffee table refashion.

I snagged this little beauty for 15 bucks at D.I. yesterday. I love the crown moulding on the side and the shape of the legs. To be honest, I am not in love with the idea of coffee tables. Mostly because I have 5 kids under the age of 8 and I don't like to have hard surfaces for kids to whack themselves on when they are learning to walk. But for now, everyone is pretty sturdy on their feet so we'll give it a shot:) The kids were my big helpers trying to figure out where the legs attach. They were pretty pleased with themselves for getting a leg back on. Unfortunately I had to take it back off to paint it.

The top of the table was severely abused. It's hard to tell from the picture, but it has it all from crayons to stickers to scratched initials. Instead of sanding that for hours I decided to glue a piece of bead board to the surface.

It saves hours of elbow grease and I really like how it dresses it up.

I just may end up liking this little guy after all. Now snag yourself a project and have a wonderfully creative weekend!!

Andy

  4. Could you share with us "clueless" ones what "D.I." is? I see you mention it often, and if I am lucky enough to have one in my area I'm making a run for it as soon as possible. Thanks!
