The Joe was kind enough to pick me up some fancy pants chairs at a yard sale one day. They are really nice chairs, but outdated. Even still it was hard for me to attack them with the sander because they had such a nice finish on them. Half way thru I was questioning if I shouldn't have just reupholstered. Partly because they have such a nice finish and partly because they have lots of little nooks that I couldn't reach with my sander and it was tiring and frustrating.
I broke down and called my SIL Deanne and asked her if I could borrow her Mouse sander. Those things are so cool and it's something that just bumped up to the top of my wish list. Not only is it shaped like a little mouse, but it also has cool attachments that you can stick on the top to get the really tight spaces.I think I would have thrown in the towel if it weren't for that little guy. After sanding...and sanding...and sanding...I painted it with a primer and then added some chocolate paint to the edges that I wanted to distress.I was initially going to go with blue, but made a last second switch to white. Sooooo glad I went with the white!!! I have some really cute coordinating fabric for #2!!
That my friends will have to wait for another day...I am pooped!!
The chair looks great white...and I love the fabric!!
