Check out this cute bead board door I found for a couple dollars:
Such a cutie! Even more so with an oversized hook.
I'm using a wooden plate that my Mother-in-law Kathy gave to me a couple of months ago.
She always has cool things like this floating around.

After adding vinyl and tacking in picture holders, we're ready to welcome trick or treaters.
I think I'll leave the door up after Halloween and use it to hang wreaths or other seasonal decor.
I love how wreaths look, but I'm not a fan of how much they scratch up my front door.
What about you? Are you a fan of hanging things on the front door?
If so, what do you use to prevent banging and scratching?
HA thats so awesome. Love the phrase too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea!!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! I love hanging stuff on my front door but I had the same problem .. so I bought a roll of double sided tape from home depot and I attach that to the back of whatever I hang. It totally helped with all the scratches and it prevents the door hanger from banging against the door when the wind blows
ReplyDeleteOh that's so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find. Love your idea to add a hook. I know my door gets scratches too. Somtimes I just add a few of those felt dots to the back to add a little space between the wreath and door.
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative idea! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea ~ I LOVE it! I do hang stuff from my front door, because I hate it and I'm trying to hide it. A new front door is on our short list of home projects, so when we do replace it, I'm going to remember this project.
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative idea! It looks great. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day.

P.S. I love your trim in your kitchen.
Eeeeekkk!!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this!!!!
What a great saying too!!!
=)
Felt dots work great to help with scratching. The sticky tack stuff that teachers use works well for holding it in place and reducing scratching and banging, as long as you have something big enough to hide it. I love that beadboard door!
ReplyDeletegreat door and love your use of it! I'd leave it up too! awesome idea.
ReplyDeletegail
My front door is metal so I hot glue heavy duty magnets to the back of everything I hang on the front door. My husband hated the scratches and the noise and this has fixed both problems.
ReplyDeleteI love it! And as for the banging and scratching, I apparently never thought to protect the door since mine is scratched up from all of my wreaths.
ReplyDeleteI love this!! Such a cute and original idea!!
ReplyDeleteI LOOOOVE this! for real im headed out to make one of my own! I just got a cute cupboard door that i have thinking what to do with. this is a great idea:)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I'm going to go look for a spot to hang something like that (which I'll get you to make for me).
ReplyDeleteOMG! That is soooo stinkin' cute!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it. The Phrase is the best. I don't like things banging against the front door, but I like to dress the door with SOMETHING. I used UHC tack on the back of our door sign that hung. The same wad of it lasted at least two years before I deemed it was too dirty to stick and be of use any more.
ReplyDeleteWow...this is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! So much in fact that I am going to make one. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing your dimensions (for the bead board) and where did you get your oversized hook? Once again, LOVE it! Thanks!
