Hmmm...I wonder what room needs some attention at the Porter house..
Doesn't look like we've only lived here a month, does it?
Chaos of this proportion takes normal people years to accumulate.
Yep, the natural me is an enemy to my house.
I have such a strong desire to be organized, but most of the time I guess I forget to mention that to myself.
What are you doing in here paint?!? Besides holding up the Cinnamon Toast Crunch?? My new theory is that if I have to call poison control if someone tries to eat it, it does not belong in the pantry.
Mom and Pop gave me this lovely set of silverware for my b-day in January. I keep thinking that if I open it, they won't be nice and new and shiny anymore...It's this kind of thinking that gets me into trouble. Open it already and put it where it belongs!!
I was able to find an open cabinet to store this:
once I turned it into this:
Now for a little paint. Is it a waste of time to paint a pantry? Probably.
It is really quite a bit more blue than it appears. I promise I didn't paint it the exact same color!
Yay! I get to put the food back in! I think Mira only ripped the labels off of 10 cans. Mystery food is so much fun!
Wait..maybe I don't have that much food. Lol. Did I really have that much crap in there?
I like buying the bagged cereal because it's cheaper, but it always spills all over the pantry floor. I'm going to see if I like it better stored in a tote.
I added a little chalkboard for a shopping list as well as a hook for aprons.

After:
Now I should head over to tackle my closet.....
Yeah, that's not gonna happen today.
Enjoy your day!
You are worth it!

WOW, I'm truly inspired to do some spring cleaning! I love that you painted with a cool, calm color. We spend so much time in there as moms, it only makes sense to make it cute and calming. Thanks for posting the before pics, my, hallway shelf, pantry looks about the same.
ReplyDeleteOh please link this to my next We're Organized Wednesday party. It will be on May 12. It looks so incredible and mystery food is always fun. You always make me laugh.
ReplyDeleteWow! I would like to have a pantry that looks so good! Great organization job.

Oh mo goodness!!! I'm so impressed! My pantry is organized, but not cute. I definitely need to do something about that...if only it were bigger. :) I'd love for you to link this to my Transform Tuesday post tomorrow. Hope you have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteLooks great that has to feel so good after getting the pantry all organized..Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jolyn
You can come clean/organize for me anytime! It looks great! And yes, you should paint a pantry! :) The prettier it is the more likely it is to stay neat, right?! yeah! let's go with that.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing!

That looks great!! I wish I had a walk in pantry!

Looks great. I love that touch of color. Takes it from drab to fab.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same shelving units and I wanted to label where things go but am constantly reorganizing the pantry. So I made labels on chipboard and attached them to heavy duty magnets so they stick to the shelves but I can still change my mind where I want to put stuff!
ReplyDeleteOh man, organizing food is the bane of my existence! That looks great, though. Maybe it will inspire me to get mine done. I love that you said you forget to mention to yourself your strong desire for organization. I think that must be my problem, too. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a little bit of effort makes! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks awesome....I'm thinking you're not going to have to buy peanut butter for awhile.. :-)
ReplyDeleteCome do mine now! I'll have a PB&J waiting for ya...
Warm blessings,
Spencer
I'm pretty sure your pantry is the size of my first kitchen. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI am green with envy over your pantry. The house we are in has this sad little closet with shelves that are an absolutely useless height. (Not a single one of them is tall enough for a regular box of cereal.
ReplyDeleteOur new house is going to have the pantry of my dreams, even if I have to use a bedroom! :P
Wow! I have to show it to my husband!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great & absolutely HUGE now! I'm envious - when we built - we didn't put in a big enough pantry - if I did it again - it'd be bigger for sure!
ReplyDeletethat looks awesome...what a great idea...pantry's are often boring and dingy, and brightening up with blue paint made such a difference (along with the organization)...great job!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of painting the pantry!!
ReplyDeleteWow-where did you come from? Totally amazing change!
ReplyDeleteMy pantry doesn't have a light in it! Seriously who over looked that? so that will be my first item of business... someday. I have never seen a cuter pantry in my life!
