Isn't it ironic..don't you think...

Are you ever in this position...you hold onto something for what seems like FOREVER and then one day you say to yourself, "Self, why do I still have this. I will never ever ever use it!"  About this time you decide you are ready to move on. You toss it out and then what happens? Oh yes, within the week, maybe even that same afternoon into your head pops the PERFECT thing that you could have done with that ONE particular item.  It just happened to me this week, so I had to pass this picture on just in case you might make the same mistake as I did.  I had a big box of glass jars that I have had in the garage for a LONG time now.  I just keep all of my pickle or jelly jars so I can tie twine around the top, fill them with wild flowers and give them away.  I just had way too many. I got rid of the box yesterday and then I saw this picture on Apartment Therapy.  Isn't that elegant and simple? I love how they tied place cards onto them and the silverware looks so cute wrapped in burlap.  CURSES!!!

That's not really even what I wanted to blog about today, but I just had to vent!! Thanks for the listening ear.  What I really wanted to do is share this painting idea. I know I'm going a little overkill on the pegboards lately, but you can modify the idea to fit whatever(if you like it that is).  My inspiration came from this little paper applique I found at Robert's.
I love those little spring trees.   I decided to copy the idea by taping lines onto a pegboard. I taped really thin and long triangles for the trunks and after they had dried I taped little tiny branches.
At first I tried to free hand them, but I think with the style they look better when they are more precise.
The fun part is stamping the different sizes and colors of circles to top them off.  I had a couple of circle stamps and I used a pencil eraser for the teeny tiny ones. Too fun.

OK, I promise my next post will have nothing to do with pegboards!! Have a great Wednesday Wedding Day....remember whoever you touch you have to marry.  Did you play that as a kid? I think that's why Wednesday has always been my favorite.

  1. I tried for 3 years to get pregnant with my 3rd child. I gave up and sold the crib and all of my baby things. That same week, I found out I was pregnant. I felt bad, but then I got to go out and get all new things that I liked better anyway. Maybe you will find better jars?
